As an artist I visually express my life. My images illustrate emotions, experiences, views, and my stories. The viewer gets a sense of my personality, where I've been, what I've done, and what I like...so far.

I consider myself a professional student, and love learning. Though the years I've had some excellent teachers who taught me to love subjects in which I had no interest. Some have inspired me to reach further than I thought I could. My art teachers, my history teachers, and even a math teacher had faith in my ability when I had little. This painting is dedicated to them.

She was the best childhood friend anyone could have. We spent as much time together as our parents would allow, and that was daily. We were in school together, and over the summer we played school. We went to trampolines, the roller rink, and the swimming pool--even on rainy days. We danced to the Locomotion and Big Girls Don't Cry. We were cool. Best friends.

When someone asks, "how did you meet your husband?" They are shocked to hear my answer. We met in a bar. There are lots of clichés and derogatory connotations around singles bars; meat markets, bar flies, pick-up joints, etc. This painting is about everyone's experiences in a bar. Good, bad, and marriage.

Mom chauffeured me to a weekly piano lesson at Bradley University where I plunked out musical baby-notes. Through years of numerous piano teachers, from house to house, move after move, my lessons remained a staple.

When I lived in Peoria IL as a child the massive oak tree that grew in the front yard. Dad hung the tree swing for me. I can still smell the warm fresh country air in the summer and the crispy leaves in the fall as I spent hours swinging and daydreaming.
