Artist Statement: The word metamorphosis best explains my overall artistic life that forever changes and grows. I am intrigued by and work in many art forms—both two and three-dimensional. My inspiration comes from nature, spirituality, music, or an intriguing subject; and I am always moved by my surroundings. My finished works can be either whimsical or thought provoking and I often add something that doesn't "fit" to incorporate the element of surprise or shock.

My design process starts with an attitude “flavor of the day”. If I'm not working on a particular body of work, my inspiration often matches my selected background music du jour—often  what develops isn’t always what I have in mind, but what emerges. The ultimate goal of my work is to evoke positive emotion, make people smile—and ponder.

My palette leans toward cooler colors throughout all the mediums that I work with—paint, polymer, fiber, or collage. Most often, I use bold, vibrant colors in jewel tones with shades of purple, turquoise, and greens; primaries, and almost never muted or pastel tones. I choose colors depending on what I wish to communicate.
